Needwood House

Needwood House is located in a quiet residential street which runs off the main High street in Heath Hayes, approximately  3 miles from Cannock and 6 miles from Lichfield.  It is near to bus routes.

Needwood House was opened in 1995 and provided nursing care for adults with mental health problems, predominantly but not exclusively dementia.  It was extended in 2012 and now provides care for up to thirty three residents.

It has 29 single bedrooms, 8 of which are en suite and have flat screen televisions, and two double rooms for those who choose to share.  A number of the ground floor bedrooms have French windows opening onto our internal patio which has been designed as a sensory area and includes a potting shed for those residents who enjoy this activity.

It also benefits from a secure back garden which has disabled access and provides both a lawned area and a large patio which has tables, chairs and sun umbrellas making it a perfect place to sit and relax on warmer days.

Needwood House has two lounge areas, a dining area and a large conservatory all available for use by our residents.

Activities are provided by our resident activities organiser who runs individualised activity programmes ensuring all residents are able to enjoy meaningful activities that they have chosen.

We run cinema afternoons and relaxation therapy for those residents who enjoy this type of activity.

We recognise that  those few residents who may require nursing in bed still benefit and enjoy activities and our activities organiser and other staff spend time with these people and also if chosen ensure, music and sensory aids are in situ in these residents rooms.

Many of our residents enjoy going into the wider community and with staff visit local shops and travel further afield on organised outings using the home’s mini bus.

The nursing home has disabled showers and bathrooms on both floors and has an 8 person lift which is able to take a wheelchair.

There is a call system throughout the home and free wi fi is available.

A high quality nutritious varied menu is offered and we are able to cater for specialist diets. Drinks and snacks are available throughout the day.

Needwood House is managed by Rachel Ball she is supported by  Mrs Ann Mansell (Co-Proprietor), Mrs Sarah Jane Cropper who holds a level 5 managers diploma, a deputy manager , and a dedicated team of nurses, care supervisor, senior carers, carers, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance and administration staff.
